” I’m responsible for business and IT project management tasks: this means I have to be imaginative
and find solutions suitable for different contexts reconciling
quality, organisational, durability and cost objectives.”

What is your professional profile and path?
I joined Odaxys in 1997. After 12 years, I work as a Business Analysis Project Manager for service contracts. Initially, I worked on Client Server environments, however for 6 years now I have been working essentially on Java web projects in Oracle. In parallel, I monitor third-party application maintenance for the projects done under service contracts. For 5 years now, I have also been acting as consultant for project management support assignments, in particular for ADEME, LDC, and the Ille-et-Vilaine business centre (CDG 35).

What type of assignments do you perform?
Project management support assignments are very varied and can cover all or any phase of the project. For LDC, I prepared a specification by providing the IT department with the functional, technical, organisational elements, as well as the load and planning assessment projects in order to ultimately build a reasoning for the strategic and budget plan.

Can you describe a little more about test and standarisation aspects?
More specifically, on standardisation, intervening throughout the project enables me to ensure requirements are met and that these set of requirements evolve in line with the functional guidelines specified by users and IT project management. In addition, the drafting of test plans is made easier, can be anticipated, and the link between requirements, specifications and tests is easier to establish, to trace. Based on test plans validated by the client, we perform the acceptance testing of integration tests before the experts perform their own acceptance testing, meaning the test plans we prepare are also suitable as a guiding principle.

With varied tasks and assignments, what satisfies you most about the job?
I take on both project management support and IT project management tasks: the organisational limitations are very different. This means I have to be imaginative and find solutions suitable for different contexts while reconciling quality, organisational, sustainability and cost objectives, as our clients agree different priorities for these criteria. This double “hat” job means I can also improve either of the two types of assignment I work on, my experience as project manager enriches my role as consultant and vice versa. In particular, today the test phase is a major part of projects, which wasn’t necessarily the case before. Our clients are more aware of its importance, and we have seen a growing demand for standardisation and associated tools, as well as the definition and application of coding standards.
